In City Smiles we care about every smile. We are always looking for the newest solutions to improve the appearance of your teeth and assure you a great service.

The Family and Cosmetic Dentistry consists in series of treatments applied to the patients, helping them obtain a beautiful and white smile. The process involves bleaching the teeth, using bonding, reshaping, implants, among other treatments.

The most important part of your dental hygiene is routine cleaning and checkups. The recommended number of checkups is twice per year to detect problems at the earliest stages. Early detection will help to reduce discomfort, time, and money.

What to Expect

Your dental cleaning will consist of:

– An overall exam of your teeth, jaw, and gums by the dentist

– Digital x-rays to get a more in-depth look into your dental hygiene

– Professional and thorough cleaning of your teeth

– Personalized care plans to address any issues and help you maintain the healthiest smile

Children's Routine Dental Care

Teaching your children the proper way to care for their teeth is a vital part of their good oral hygiene. Children should start to visit the dentist for a checkup by the age of 2. This will allow you to help ensure your children’s teeth are growing in correctly and reducing further dental issues for your child.

Deep Cleanings

A deep cleaning differs from a regular cleaning in that it is needed when there is a significant presence of tarter buildup underneath the gums. Tartar and bacteria build up when there is an opening along the teeth and gum line, often referred to as a pocket. Once a pocket is formed bacteria flocks to this area and can not be removed by brushing, flossing, or with regular teeth cleaning. Your gums will begin to inflame as a reaction to the bacteria and fight off infections. If not properly treated an infection will develop and can result in further damage including complete loss of teeth.

Our ultimate goal is to restore and repair your natural teeth, but unfortunately, sometimes tooth extraction is unavoidable whether it is from improper positioning or damage that is beyond repair.

At City Smiles Dental we will ensure that you are comfortable before, during and after the extraction. Our team will walk you throughout the process and follow up to make sure you are at the highest level of comfort possible at all times. On the time of the extraction, we will deliver a local anesthetic to numb the area. After the extraction, you should feel fine but should you significant pain or swelling be sure to contact our office and we’ll provide you immediate relief.

Root canals

Root canals are the most common dental procedures with an average of 14 million every year. A simple root canal will help save your natural teeth and prevent dental implants and bridges.

Root canals are needed when there is an infection present in the pulp or root of your tooth. Symptoms showing root canal may include swelling, severe sensitivity to temperature, or pain in the area. If you experience a high level of pain or discomfort in the area, we will check to see if the root of the tooth is damaged. If the pulp is injured, we will begin the nonsurgical treatment to eliminate the pulp and prevent further damage to the area.

If you have existing crowns or fillings, we will be able to replace these with crowns that look and fell like your natural teeth. If your teeth are severely cracked or chipped, we can apply a porcelain crown that will look identical to the surrounding teeth creating a natural and full smile. These crowns will function just as a regular tooth allowing you to have a full bite.

The material we use is the highest grade porcelain or porcelain bonded to metal. Crowns are also used on teeth that have had a root canal or deep filling to prevent breakage and protect the work that had been previously done.

If you have experience tooth loss you will need to have the tooth replaced to maintain their proper function and prevent the shifting of your teeth. A bridge will help to fill in the space caused by the missing teeth by attaching artificial teeth in the areas. Bridges can be permanently placed or removable dependent on what will best suit your needs.

Do you need a bridge?

If you’re missing teeth, then the answer is yes. Your teeth are designed to complement each other, and when there are missing teeth, this causes stress on your mouth, jaw, and gums. Bridges also help reduce gum disease which is often caused by missing teeth.

Implants allow those who have lost teeth to regain their confidence and the natural functioning of their teeth. We provide implants into the jaw bone where teeth are missing. The bone below the gum is bonded with the posts to create the strongest foundation for the implant. If you need implants, we will fully address your specific needs and dental history ensuring your implants look and feel natural.

When teeth are missing in your mouth, jaw line, and another tooth will begin to adjust in an attempt to compensate for the missing space. This can cause a change in your appearance and affect the overall functioning of your teeth. An implant will help to eliminate the shifting and maintain the natural alignment of surrounding teeth and mouth.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are designed specifically for you to meet your dental needs and replace missing teeth. With dentures, the appearance of your smile repairs as well as the proper functioning of your teeth.

At City Smiles Dental we use a mixture of high-quality materials that look and feel just like real teeth. Your dentures are dependent on the shape of your mouth. We will design you dentures so that teeth are evenly distributed streamlining the cheering process.

Often people prefer metal partial dentures as they are structurally stronger and are more hygienic. Acrylic dentures are typically just a transitional or temporary solution. We will meet beforehand to go over your options and pick the best solutions for your needs.
